We've entered April already, I can't believe this year is flying by so fast! But with the arrival of spring comes the due date for Florence and Percy. Unfortunately, they aren't done yet, but im grateful that Fantasy Doll are taking their time! Almost 70 dolls and over 100 face plates, most of which are black, are no quick feat to complete! I do however have some general updates, some of which I'm less pleased about than others...
Casting update-
Unfortunately, the casting process is taking longer than expected. I estimated that all dolls would be complete and with me by April, 5, almost 6 months after the casting order was initially placed. However, FDoll have informed me that the crows will not be complete until June. This came as quite a shock to me, as i have never had an order take so long, not only that, but i made it quite clear that the dolls were needed by April.
I have asked that the dolls be finished asap, as June far exceeds not only the delivery date stated on the casting order, but also what I initially told you guys. I am so sorry for the delay, and I will keep things updated here if anything changes.
Packaging and paper goods-
Certificates, Manuals and all other paper pieces are printed and ready to go! I'm beyond proud of how everything has turned out, I cant wait for everyone to see it! I've also been working on the smaller packaging details in-house, which are coming together nicely!
But, the boxes... those who followed along with Ipah's production probably remember the absolute nightmare I had getting his boxes made, and unfortunately, I've had the same with the corvid boxes. Material sourcing troubles, printing issues and holidays have all caused massive delays and as of right now, I'm still waiting on half of the box lid materials to arrive (I had to source it myself as my manufacturer could not get it) Once it does, it'll be dropped with the manufacturer ASAP and fingers crossed, the boxes will be done quickly. However, I'm currently expecting the boxes to delay the shipment of blank dolls by up to 1 Month, depending on when the dolls arrive.
June 16th-
I received word from the box manufacturer that the boxes are FINALLY going into production, I'm beyond mad that its taken almost 7 months just to get things moving, but at least they're getting done. I'm still expecting them to arrive after the dolls, but hopefully they surprise me!
Accessories-
All ordered eyes have been made! I am currently in the process of sanding the Percy eyes and adding their final glossy finish.
Crochet bonnets are coming along a little slower however. Due to ongoing chronic pain in my wrists I'm unable to crochet as much as a used to, but rest assured, they'll be done in time!
June 16th-
All Florence eyes and crochet bonnets are complete and packed up! Percy eyes are still in production though, my hands wont allow me to sand more that a couple of pairs a day -_-
Full Sets-
The Matrons full sets are coming along nicely. All undergarments have been completed, with coats being started at some point this week. Percy hats have also been printed and are ready for sanding.
The Florence book bags came out amazing with their final book design. However with the books, came the dilemma of hiding 90% of their cover with the straps. So as a compromise, the design has been altered slightly to omit the top straps, meaning the book can be removed! (If you have ordered a full set and would prefer the original strap design, please feel free to email me with your order number and request it!)
June 16th-
The full sets are 100% complete and packed up! I'm absolutely in love with how they have turned out, and I cant wait to pack them up with the dolls eventurally!
